With our swivel units, turning angles from 190 ° (+/- 95° to center) can be achieved. Because of our external and hardened stop system, the modules deliver full torque, even in end position. Stopping is done external – no matter at what angle of the rotation – via a toroidal area, resulting in a high repeat accuracy (± 0.01 °) of the swivel unit. Why: the stop screws allow precise and simple adjustment to the angle of rotation. Due to the external stop system, damage of drive is very unlikely, even in case of defect dampers. Both drive pistons are under pressure at once and ensure always end positions free of clearance. By the use of an intermediate position, it is possible to move to a medium position. Our patented stop-screw-system is housing the proximity switch inside the hollow screw for exact monitoring of the end-position.
That enables you to recognize declining shock absorbers early and prevent the application from severe damage (check bouncing in PLC).
Depending on the device, integrated air and signal grommets supply other modules through the rotary unit. Centering rings and grids ensure a clearance free and exact position when installing, connect other modules or changing your application.

If I want to adjust the rotation angle – do I need to disassemble the Swivel Unit?
No! Except our low-cost-models of type SHE all adjustments of the rotation angle can easily be done from external. With our stop-screws we can cover the angle of 190° – see animation.
Which adapters do I need for mounting sensors?
None! The Swivel Units are equipped with small magnets in the pistons and c-slots outside for using magnetic field sensors. More precision is given by the use of our inductive proximity-switch NSS direct inside the hollow stop-screw (Animation). As the stop-position can be detected exactly, you can discover a declining of a shock absorber as a special benefit!
For using standard-sensors inside our hollow stop-screws you can order a fastening-set, called BFS.
What kind of throttles are recommended for adjusting speed?
According the instruction-manual Swivel Units we recommend to use exhaust throttles for speed-sdjustments of Swivel –Units.
Intermediate positions are controlled with upstream-supply-air-regulators. Depending on the application and situation (depressurized, neutral pressure , full pressure): in some cases an exhaust regulator also maybe fitted.
