rotary indexing unit / rotary indexing table
We are manufacturers of easy-to-control rotary indexing tables in four sizes with different directions of rotation (left-hand rotation, right-hand rotation and pendulum operation).
The divisions of the rotary indexing tables we produce vary from 2 to 24. Rotary indexing tables of sizes RSE-3 and RSE-4 can be installed in any position. The direction of rotation or conversion to pendulum operation can be changed by the customer using the conversion kit for the RSE-3 or RSE-4 rotary indexing table, which is evidence of a well thought-out and flexible design. With the RSE-4, the partition can be influenced by the user himself (conversion kit as an accessory) - a rotary unit with a high degree of freedom, e.g. for use with changing test setups / laboratory purposes.
An exhaust air throttle is integrated into each rotary indexing table. This enables the plate speed of the rotary unit (cycle time) to be adjusted. Depending on the use of the throttle (turning it closed or open), the speed of the rotary indexing table is reduced or increased.
Our included damping systems (hydraulic or pneumatic) absorb the impact force on the end position of the rotary unit without bouncing. Maintenance- and wear-free pneumatic damping can be selected for RSE-6 and RSE-9.
Centering rings for precise connections are a valuable part of the scope of delivery. Proximity switches (accessories) can be used to query the switching states on the rotary indexing table.
Odd partitions can be implemented as standard on the RSE-6 and RSE-9 rotary indexing tables, as the animation shows.
Due to the locking principle (see spare parts list), the RSE-3 and RSE-4 series rotary indexing units require an angle segment in which two locking bolts are positioned opposite each other. The available division 3 results from a division of 6.
Inexpensive: All Wagner rotary indexing units are equipped with an exhaust air throttle at the factory . You can determine the plate speed by turning the adjustment screw in or out. See animation RSE-6 at approx. 40 sec or video RSE-3.
Both large rotary indexing tables (RSE-6 / RSE-9) are available with low-wear pneumatic dampers or hydraulic shock absorbers, depending on the moment of inertia. A later conversion is conceivable (see operating instructions page 36 and animation ).
Rotary indexing units of type RSE-3 and RSE-4 are always equipped with one or, in the case of pendulum operation, with two hydraulic dampers.
The installation is specified horizontally, i.e. with the plate on top. The " small " rotary indexing tables (RSE-3/RSE-4) can also be used in any position , e.g. "top down", due to the type of bearing.
The fixed center hole on the RSE-6 and RSE-9 rotary indexing table can be used to route air and signal cables. Alternatively, a hollow screw-in column with a clamping piece is available as an accessory. This is attached to the rotary indexing unit with a threaded ring - see animation .
By dismantling the locking screw on the plate of the RSE-4 rotary indexing table and removing the lower sealing plate (loosen the snap ring), the center hole can be used. This shuts down the air integration in this table.
The direction of rotation of the RSE-3 and RSE-4 rotary indexing units can be changed by the customer by converting them. A special conversion kit (accessory) can even be used to create a pendulum operation .
The direction of rotation of the RSE-6 and RSE-9 rotary switching units cannot be changed as this depends on the housing, among other things!
The operating instructions describe the procedure. The basis is the preparation of the rotary indexing table for the maximum possible division of 24 segments at 15° each. A spacer bolt tailored to the partition is supplied as part of the conversion kit.
Swivel unit
With our swivel units, angles of rotation of 190° (+/- 95° around the center position) can be achieved. Thanks to our external and hardened stop system, the modules have full torque even in the end positions. Stops are made - regardless of the angle of rotation - via an adjustable ring surface, which leads to a high repeat accuracy (± 0.01°) of the swivel unit.
The stop screws enable the angle of rotation to be set precisely and easily. Double-loaded drive cylinders ensure that the end positions are always free of play - the drive torque corresponds to the holding torque. The robust overall construction separates the stop situation from the gear, so even if the damping is defective, it is unlikely that the gearing in the swivel drive will be damaged immediately.
Our patented stop system holds the initiator directly in the hollow stop screw and thus enables the failure detection of hydraulic shock absorbers on the swivel drive ( bounce query via PLC ).
By installing an intermediate position, it is possible to move to a middle position. Integrated air and signal feedthroughs supply the swivel unit's structures (depending on the design). Centering rings ensure a quick, backlash-free and exact position when installing the swivel drive modules. Several air connections and different sizes ensure high flexibility and allow you degrees of freedom in the design. Precision, repeatability and durability are absolutely paramount in all of our swivel units.
No! With the exception of the low-cost variants of the SHE type (formerly SEN), all changes to the rotation range can be easily adjusted from the outside using the stop screws ( total 190° - see animation ). Even for small swivel angles, you do not need to order a separate variant from Wagner - these can also be adjusted .
None! The rotary actuators are equipped with encoder magnets to trigger magnetic field sensors inserted via C-slots. However, it is much more precise to mount inductive proximity switches of the NSS type directly in the hollow stop screw ( animation ). This can even detect a shock absorber failure, as the end position is detected precisely!
An adapter (BFS = mounting kit) is available for mounting standard initiators in our hollow stop screws.
The operating instructions for the swivel unit state that the rotation speed of our rotary drives can, in principle, be influenced by exhaust air throttles .
Intermediate positions , on the other hand, are controlled with supply air throttles . Depending on the application and pressure situation (pressureless, pressure neutral, pressure), an exhaust air throttle may be used.
The swivel unit operating instructions and this document provide valuable information on the standard connection, especially when operating with intermediate positions.
Lifting unit
A lifting unit is intended as a basic device for vertical lifting in "pick and place" applications, but can also be used horizontally. Depending on the variant of the lifting unit, cross roller guides or ball guides are installed. Lifting units with cross roller guides are characterized by enormous rigidity and high tipping moments.
Thanks to the external and hardened stop system, we achieve high repeatability (± 0.01 mm and less). The HEK lifting module series has our stop screws, which also serve as a mount for inductive proximity switches. This ensures that the exact end position is confirmed on the lifting module.
Hydraulic end position damping (optional) reduces wear. For lifting modules of the HE-6 and HE-9 design with only 10 or 25 mm stroke, a special tandem stop system can be installed that accommodates the shock absorbers for these particularly short-stroke units.
The centering system, which is always the basis of the design of every lifting module, enables us to create highly precise and play-free connections between our units. Together with adapter pieces and reducing plates, this results in a combinable modular system that enables the lifting unit to be used quickly, easily and precisely.
No! Lifting modules belong to the linear module category: robust, compact and, due to the high impact force (80-470 N, depending on the model), primarily designed for vertical lifting in mechanical engineering. Horizontal installation is always possible. The only thing to consider here is the loads - see example HEK-4 .
If you subsequently equip the lifting unit with damping, so-called tandem stop systems (TAS) are available for small strokes (10/25 mm) of the HE type lifting units. As shown in the brochure, these accommodate the dampers and enable high repeat accuracy . If the above lifting units are ordered in short strokes as variant "H" , the dampers and TAS are already installed on delivery.
The tandem stop system is already integrated in all other lifting units.
Yes! The lifting modules are delivered with the maximum stroke setting. The stroke length can be adjusted as required (position, cycle time). Depending on the product range, this is done using hexagon nuts or screws to save space.
Linear unit
We are an experienced manufacturer of linear units with stroke lengths from 20 mm to 500 mm. An external stop system ensures high repeatability and reduces wear. Depending on the type, the proximity switch is mounted directly in the stop screws and thus acknowledges the end position.
Our precise linear unit systems are milled from high-strength aluminum. Different impact forces can be represented by the linear module using variants, as well as different load capacities or use in horizontal and vertical linear movements.
Each linear unit is made from high-quality components: For many applications, we offer a wide range of linear modules with cross roller guides, recirculating ball guides, ball guides or plain bearing guides. With our sophisticated centering system, devices of the same and different sizes can be connected to one another precisely and without play - and all without any external construction effort!
A linear module therefore has high structural benefits and more to offer than standard cylinders.
The self-developed cross roller guides in the LSK linear unit take up less installation space and enable the use of larger rollers in the same installation space ( further information ).

Yes! A pneumatic damper is installed in the guide head of the LE-6 linear units and its big brother , the LE-9 . This is pressurized with compressed air and thus performs the damping tasks of the linear module - with almost no wear and without taking up any additional installation space.
The LEN-6 and VEN-6 linear units are available in different stroke lengths. They are fully equipped, ready for immediate use and can be combined to create pick and place solutions.
Depending on requirements, versions without integration, with air integration or with air and electrical signal feedthrough can be ordered.
An intermediate position allows the mapping of a third position, e.g. “reject position”.
Due to the payloads, these linear modules are always delivered with hydraulic damping.
Gripping unit
Our PGM series parallel grippers are extremely wear-resistant thanks to the manufacture of high-strength aluminum and the hardcoat coating. Our parallel grippers cover a stroke of 2 to 15 mm per jaw in various sizes. The compact design of the PGM grippers achieves a high gripping force (16 N to 1090 N); despite the small size, high workpiece weights can be handled. The open design of the pneumatic gripper with ground, rust-proof steel shafts allows the lubrication process of a PGM when installed and allows dirt particles to escape during operation.
The gripper can be used in any installation position. The position of the gripping jaw of the PGM parallel gripper can be queried using inductive sensors. With some parallel grippers, this can also be done via milled C-grooves using magnetic field sensors. Our products in the "pneumatic grippers" category come with centering rings. These are used for precise and play-free connections for handling and in the direction of your gripping fingers. If structurally possible, gripping force safeguards for the pneumatic grippers are available as accessories.
Yes! Our modules generally work between 4 and 8 bar. The technical data given is for 6 bar. PGM grippers work between 2 and 8 bar .
Yes – you are welcome to view further information .
These two parallel grippers are available in the variants N (normal), Ö ( high opening force ) and S ( high closing force ). Versions of type Ö or S are therefore equipped for larger spreading or clamping tasks – see table .
