Intermediate positions
Intermediate positions are additional modules for swivel units. They are used to achieve a third position. They consist of an additional cylinder that is flanged to the swivel unit instead of the end plate.
While the swivel unit typically swivels between 0 and 190°, the intermediate position module ensures a position of approximately 90°. Technically speaking, the cylinder pushes back the two racks of the swivel unit.
Special features of intermediate positions
The center position is adjustable.
With the exception of the module for the SES-4 swivel unit, all intermediate positions can also be ordered with shock absorbers.
No intermediate positions are available for the SM and SHE series.
Due to the cylinder size, swivel units of size SE-4 and SE-6 must be vented before moving to the center position.
In all other intermediate positions, it is possible to work against the pressure of the swivel unit, but this results in a reduced torque because two cylinders work against each other!
