Swivel unit type SM,SE+SES - small angles
Full Flexibility: Why you'll never buy the wrong angle with pivot units from Wagner!
Imagine you're planning a system for a 90° pivot, but six months later the requirements change to 180°. With conventional drives, this means: considering and ordering a new product, design changes, documentation, conversion, downtime, delays. Not with us. Find out why the SM, SE, and SES series are the smartest choice for your design.
The Wagner USP: One Drive, All Possibilities
While many competitors sell separate housings and mechanisms for specific angle ranges (e.g., 90° or 180°), we at Friedemann Wagner take a different approach: maximum variability in one device.
Our pivot units of types SM, SE and SES are designed so that you can continuously adjust the pivot angle yourself within the maximum range of up to 190°.
The advantages at a glance:
- Future-proof: If your process changes, simply adjust the stop – no new purchase is necessary.
- Reduced inventory: You don't have to keep different 90° and 180° drives in stock. One model covers everything.
-
Precise adjustment: Thanks to the fine adjustability from the outside (stop screws), you can also achieve unusual angles outside of standard norms.
- Space-saving: The sensor can be accommodated in the hollow stop screws.
- Full torque at the end position: External stops allow full torque at the most important point - the end position!
🎥 Video Tutorial: How to easily set the angle
Theory is good, practice is better. In our short video, we show you how to fix the desired pivot angle on the unit in just a few steps:
Even small angles are no problem:
We are often asked: "Can I pivot only 15° with a 180° drive?" The answer: Yes! Our units are also ideally suited for small rotation angles.
For pivot units of type SM, SE, and SES (external stops), proceed as follows to set the pivot angle:
- Loosen the clamping block of the stop screws
- Turn the stop screws in/out to limit and set the angle
- Additional holes are provided in the stop plates for small pivot angles
- Simply move the stop block into one/both of these holes
- so the screw length is sufficient for setting the small angle
- After adjustment, once adjust the stop block (difficult to turn, O-ring at the top) by rotating it so that there is a surface stop to the hollow screw
- Fix the clamping block
💡Expert Tip
For a pivot unit with hydraulic shock absorbers, these may need to be readjusted after setting and, in any case, adapted to the load!
Please note the instructions in the operating manual in this regard, e.g., to switch off the compressed air during any assembly! The shock absorbers are in the pressure chamber. In addition to general risk of injury, the threads are heavily stressed and, for example, O-rings can be blown out (later jamming of the seal, leakage).
Technical Highlights of the Series:
- Type SM: The compact solution for extremely small installation spaces and workpieces.
- Type SE: The powerhouse for universal applications.
- Type SES: "Strong" version - highest load capacity due to reinforced bearings.
Conclusion: Invest in Flexibility
Why limit yourself when you can have freedom? With the pivot units from Friedemann Wagner, you choose a component that meets your requirements and grows with you thanks to its flexibility.
