Pneumatic Rotary Indexing Unit
Pneumatic Rotary Indexing Unit
We built easy to control rotary indexing units in four sizes with different directions of rotation (clockwise, counter-clockwise rotation, as well as swiveling). The partition of our rotary indexing units vary from 2 to 24. Hydraulic shock absorbers damp the impact force on the end position without bouncing. In case of RSE-6 and RSE-9 maintenance-free pneumatic damping is availabe as a variant. Electronical monitoring of the locking-status can be done via proximity switch.
The modules RSE-3 and RSE-4 can be installed in any mounting position. The direction of rotation of RSE-3 and RSE-4 can be converted by the customer with a conversion kit and testifies a sophisticated and flexible construction. With RSE 4, even the partition can be changed by the user himself (conversion kit as an accessory).
A choke is integrated in the rotary switch unit. This allows to adjust the table-speed. If the throttle is turned down, it reduces the speed of the plate – if the throttle is turned up, the speed increases accordingly.
Centering rings are also a valuable part of the scope of supply for precise connections.
Rotary Indexing Units - FAQ
Is it possible to get uneven partitions?
Uneven partitions are available as a standard feature of RSE-6 or RSE 9 as demonstrated in our animation.
Rotary indexing units RSE-3 and RSE-4 do have another principle: two locking bolts need an angled position vice versa ( see drawing spare-parts list)- e.g. the available partition 3 in origin therefore is made of a partition 6.
How to adjust the table speed?
All rotary indexing units of Friedemann Wagner are equipped with an exhaust throttle. By adjusting the screw, the speed of the table is affected. See animation RSE-6 at ca. 40 sec or video RSE-3
Can I choose the kind of damping?
Both bigger Rotary Indexing Units (RSE-6 / RSE-9) are available with low-wear pneumatic damping or, depending on the moment of inertia, with hydraulic dampers. A conversion later-on is possible (see operating instructions page 36 and animation).
Rotary Indexing Models RSE-3 und RSE-4 always are equipped with one or in case of oscillating mode with two hydraulic shock absorbers.
Which mounting orientation is specified?
Specification is done horizontally with table upside. Types RSE-3 and RSE-4 do have special bearings and can be used in any position e.g. also „top down“.
How to fit the column?
A fix mid-bore can be used for feed through of air or signal lines at Rotary Indexing Units RSE-6 and RSE-9. We also offer a hollow column with a clamping unit (accessories). It is easily to be mounted at the unit with a threaded ring (scope of delivery) – siehe Animation.
Can I use the middle bore of RSE-4?
Disassemble the screw plug in the center of RSE-4 and remove the snap ring and the gasket (bottom). The central bore-hole can be used, knowing that the air-integration of the table is disabled at the same time.
Can I change the turning direction?
In case of rotary indexing units RSE-3 and RSE-4 yes – it can be done by the customer as written in instruction manual. With a conversion kit also an oscillating mode can be achieved (accessories).
In case of RSE-6 and RSE-9 the direction of turning can not be changed - it depends e.g. on the housing.
Is it correct, that RSE-4 can also be changed in its partitions?
Yes, detailed information see instruction manual. This feature is based on a max. possible partition of 24 segments within 15°. Together with the ordered conversion kit special distance studs for the pistons are delivered.
