Protection class rotary indexing tables
Protection class RSE - what if I have, for example, splash water or an oily environment? Is it still possible?
Our RSE rotary indexing tables comply with protection class IP 40.
According to the operating instructions, use in oily environments or environments containing drilling water is therefore not specified. If liquids penetrate, this can lead to corrosion of components (rack, pinion, bearings) and/or increased wear of the seals.
In principle, however, it is always up to the user to decide whether to ignore the intended use. We have customers who have long since made decisions in the interests of their application: They use the repairability of our tables and replace elements affected by corrosion. This is done by us (submission, analysis, offer, repair order) or by our own equipment construction (see table below). This can be cheaper than some complex, fully encapsulated solutions.
At the customer's request, specific solutions with sealing air have already been implemented:
Compressed air is permanently applied to a separate connection. This blows out from the inside of the rotary switch unit and prevents foreign matter from entering.
Alternatively, enclosures are also practical, which at least make it more difficult for media to penetrate.
