Control of rotary indexers RSE-6 and RSE-9
Rotary indexers RSE-6 and RSE-9 - how to control?
Good to know: all types of Wagner rotary indexers "RSE" with one turning direction are constructed under the principle that drive and locking can be controlled with one (1 piece) 3/2-; 4/2- or 5/2-directional valve.
This enables you to save components, time, costs and space.
Internal air-grommets are to couple both: locking and drive.
e.g.: When locking the table, the gear shaft is moved backwards automatically.
Our installation and operating instructions of RSE-6 and RSE-9 do show two "usual" pneumatic connections - a standard circuit and an emergency-stop-circuit.
The footer of the picture defines a 5/2-control-valve with pneumatic return, connected to port "Y" (symbol see pic).
Control-air of port "Y" is used to reset the valve pneumatically. No costs and efforts for an additional sensor or its integration!
Conclusion: this is why rotary indexers RSE-6 and RSE-9 only are monitored concerning the locking (optional sensor - if needed see accessories ).
Tips and Tricks:
If you permanently have "air" on Y, A and B are swapped - the table will not lock: in this case, simply swap A and B.
Ideally, you should only control the electrical side of the bistable valve using a switching pulse.
For sure, pneumatic connection also can be done via a "standard-5/2-control-valve", controlled by timer or by your own "signal from workpiece".
To avoid any loss of compressed air: in upper case it is recommended to close the not used output "Y".
Or even use a standard pressure switch g 1/8" to change the pressure-impulse into a signal!
