Pneumatic Gripping Unit (Parallel Gripping Unit PGM)
Why a PGM from Friedemann Wagner?
As our gripping units are made of high-strength aluminum (hard anodized), matched with grinded stainless steel guiding-elements, we deliver a resistant robust construction. We do achieve a repeat accuracy of +/- 0.02 mm. The variety of gripping units allows to cover a wide range of strokes from 4 to 30 mm (2 – 15 mm each jaw) and includes small units. Jaw positions of PGM can be monitored witch inductive proximity switches and (from series PGM-60 onwards) also with magnetic field sensors. Centering rings are included with our gripping units PGM for easy, precise and clearance free connections.
Can the PGM grippers also be used with less working pressure?
Yes! All our units do work inbetween a range of 4 and 8 bar. Stated technical data are valid at 6 bar. PGM–Grippers even work at 2 up to 8 bar.
Do you offer mechanical clamp- / spreading force retentions for emergency situations?
Yes – more information can be seen in this table.
Why do you offer different variants of PGM 120 and PGM 140?
These types of PGM-gripper are available in variants N (normal), Ö (high opening force) and S (high closing force). PGM-Models Ö or S cover application-jobs if higher forces are needed for clamping or retention – also see gripper-brochure.
